Radcot Bridge Cottage

This late C18th Grade II listed cottage sits on an island between two ancient bridges spanning the upper reaches of the river Thames in the hamlet of Radcot. Recently extended and renovated the 3 double bedroom/ 3 shower cottage combines modern facilities with rustic period charm in an idyllic riverside setting with sweeping views across the Oxfordshire countryside.

Arriving at the cottage the gravel forecourt has space for three cars. Inside, with views out to the river, the fully-equipped kitchen’s hand-made oak units leave plenty of space for dining and entertaining. The large sitting room runs the full width of the original cottage with two seating areas and a wood burning stove. A utility room with washing machine and dryer doubles as a useful cloakroom with shower.

Upstairs, in the original part of the cottage, two bedrooms share a ‘Jack & Jill’ shower room all with views downriver. The third bedroom, with walk-through dressing room leading to an en-suite shower room, has double doors opening onto a west-facing roof terrace from where guests can make the most of the sweeping river and country views.

A decking terrace wraps around two sides of the cottage overlooking a small, secluded, private garden and fruit trees leading down to a ‘sundowner’ terrace over the riverbank.

Radcot Bridge Cottage is ideally suited for walking along the Thames Path and the Ye Old Swan pub is a two-minute walk.
