Garden tour

During the summer months, the grounds of Friars Court are open for private tours by appointment. These tours are available for individuals and small groups of friends, while larger parties or clubs (12 people or more) may also book to enjoy a homemade cream tea in addition to the tour if required.

Charles Willmer, your host, will guide you on a gentle walk around the gardens. The route follows a level path suitable for wheelchair users. Along the way, Charles will talk the history of his home, the development of the gardens, the conservation work carried out on the farm and share anecdotes about life in the house over the years. The tour also includes a visit to his museum with Roman and medieval artifacts recovered from the land, as well as photographs of the house, farm, and family through the years.
